# Invite your team

> Collaborate with your team in Basedash

Basedash is built for teams. Invite your colleagues to collaborate on dashboards, share insights, and make data-driven decisions together.

## Inviting team members

![The Invite members dialog with an email field, Admin, Member, and View-only role options, and an optional group picker](https://mintcdn.com/basedash/aH3kb-Bl5OLwdg2n/images/getting-started/invite-team/invite-members.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=aH3kb-Bl5OLwdg2n\&q=85\&s=39d2e4d17dfc0a55974f4242681b29be)

1. Open **Settings → Members** and click **Invite members**. You can also click **Invite teammates** in the sidebar.
2. Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas.
3. Choose a role, and optionally add the new members to groups.
4. Click **Send invites**.

Each person gets an email invitation to join your organization.

To let coworkers join without an invite, an admin can turn on joining by email domain in **Settings → Members**. See [Domains and login methods](https://basedash.com/docs/administration/domains-and-login.md).

## User roles

Every person in an organization is an **Admin**, a **Member**, or **View-only**:

* **Admins** can access everything and manage organization settings, members, data sources, and billing.
* **Members** can create and edit dashboards, charts, automations, and models, and chat with AI, subject to what's shared with them.
* **View-only** members can open what's shared with them, but can't create, edit, or chat.

See [Members and roles](https://basedash.com/docs/administration/members-and-roles.md) for everything each role can do and how to manage your member list.

## Groups

Groups let you share dashboards, chats, and data sources with a whole team at once, and give the AI team-specific context. Admins manage groups in **Settings → Groups**. See [Groups](https://basedash.com/docs/administration/groups.md).

## FAQ

> [accordion] Do invitations expire?
>
> The sign-in link in the invite email works for 7 days. After that, the
> person can still join by signing in with the email address you invited.
> Until they sign in, they show as **Invited** on the Members page, and an
> admin can **Revoke invite**.

> [accordion] Can members invite people, or only admins?
>
> Admins and members can both invite people. Only admins can invite someone as
> an admin or add new members to groups.

> [accordion] Can I invite people outside my company's email domain?
>
> Yes. You can invite any email address, such as a contractor's or an
> agency's.

> [accordion] How many people can I invite?
>
> It depends on your plan. See [Pricing](https://basedash.com/docs/administration/pricing.md) for seats on
> each plan.

> [accordion] Can I belong to more than one organization?
>
> Yes. Use the organization switcher to move between organizations or create a
> new one. Your role and personal AI context are separate in each.

See the [Members and roles FAQ](https://basedash.com/docs/administration/members-and-roles.md#faq) for removing members and resending invites.
